Alone at Sister’s house.

Yep, that’s right. I’m at Sister’s house, all alone. What ever will I do without the presence of Sister. Anyway, she and Jeremy are doing something in between church services, so I’m just kinda house sitting, because I have no where else to sit. There are a few things that have come up, so I need to add them on here. If you didn’t notice, I have added a new secondary address. It is . I would have liked to have had something else, like malletman, bigmalletman, or big_malletman, but it didn’t work that way. Malletman was already taken, bigmalletman was already taken, and underscores were not allowed. So, yep, its malletman85. I was having a little trouble setting it up to work with Outlook. The retrieve mail worked fine, but the SMTP didn’t work correctly. In addition, you cannot set up PocketPCs to work with gmail yet. So, at least temporarily, the gmail account is just a forwarding address. I apparently have some subscriptions on my Juno account that I cannot transfer over (that I know of). I can still use Trillian to check for mail, but I cannot read of write mail without going to their website. This isn’t that big a deal. I can keep an eye on the account and just leave it open. It would be better to send mail to one of the other addresses.
Well, the play was canceled. I was going to do it as best I could, but I was the only person that was having trouble. We really didn’t have a practice last week, and this week a lot of the actors were unable to show up for practice (like Sister, for example). That would only leave one practice to work with. Simply not enough time. I just don’t understand why we didn’t start this thing earlier. If we had, there would not have been any trouble, but we wait four weeks before it was to be to even mention having one.
I am SO looking forward to the end of this term. It has been quite exhausting. My grade in Calculus is currently 89.8. I am not 100% sure how Mrs. Benson handles this, but I think she considers that a B+, and as you know, I am shooting for an A. I still have one test and the final. In addition, the final grade also takes the place of the lowest test grade, so I still have a good chance at getting that last 0.2 points and pulling another rabbit out of my hat. Its been hard. Calculus, Programming 2, and Java are considered “specialized courses”. This basically means that they are specific to a particular field and are vital to that field. Since few students ever taken them, they are offered at bad times. But, because they are vital to their field, not of the curriculum was ever cut out due to Hurricane Ivan. Basically, we crammed a bit to make up for the lost month. In addition, due to the traffic, a typical 30 minute drive to the college or back now often takes me 70 minutes or longer. So… it’s all fun, right? I’m okay though. Finals are all supposed to be on one day, December 15th. I think that we may have that Programming 2 final on the Monday, because I think we are ahead in there. That will still be a rough week. The last Calculus test is this Friday. It would be really nice if I could make an A on it, so we’ll see what happens. Thursday, I will be out of town. I will be headed to Tallahassee to go to my cousin’s clemency hearing. Okay… so you ask, “What?” Sigh… My cousin is currently serving life in prison. He was convicted of first degree murder when he was 18, and he is now 30. I don’t know ALL the details, I mean… I was pretty young back then. My understanding is this: It was some kinda drug thing. He and his 3 friends were going to steal this guy’s drugs. They were all carrying guns. Cousin drove the car. The other three went in and they guy got shot and killed. The four drove away. Cousin’s defense is that he didn’t know they were going to kill him. State said, “Well, why did you have a gun then?” Obviously, I don’t know all the details, and it is not my place to say innocent or guilty… Erm… I think the punishment may be a bit harsh, but I can’t say anything really there. There hearing is taking place because the other three have finally confirmed, “Yeah, he didn’t know we were going to kill the guy.” In addition, prison guards have put in good behavior. I am just going to the hearing because he is my cousin. I don’t know if he’ll get out or not. Personally, I doubt he will. I know that if he does, it is going to be hard. He’s been in there for a long time; he doesn’t have a high school diploma. Life will be tough either way, and I don’t think he can do it without God. In fact, I know he can’t. I don’t know what’s going on with him in that respect. I just pray that God’s will be done, because I sure don’t know what should happen here. It’s really just a sad situation. If you’d join me in prayer, I would really appreciate it.
Well, that’s pretty much it… Erm… I went to Alpha Beta Gamma fundraiser thing at the Milton Campus last night. I signed up for Spring term on the 29th, and I’ve already bought my books off of Amazon. They should be here before the end of the month. Not much else going on. I assume the musical with Sister is still going on. I’d love to see a lot of you when school gets out. My last time of work is December 16th, 3:30PM.
